Colaco Homers, Paints Top Thrillbillies 11-4

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, opened a four-game homestand Tuesday night at VA Memorial Stadium with an 11-4 win over the Thrillville Thrillbillies.

Eric Colaco hit his first home run of the season, a three-run blast in the bottom of the second inning, giving the Paints a 4-1 lead.

The Paints (12-5) scratched across another run in the bottom of the third, scoring on a Tim Orr groundout, making it 5-1.

After Thrillville (13-4) scored in the top of the fifth, Chillicothe answered with a sacrifice fly by Cameron Bowen in the bottom of the inning, extending the lead to 6-2.

The Thrillbillies scored another run in the top of the seventh, again the the Paints had an answer.

The Paints took advantage of hits by Ty Hatfield and Felix Polanco and two Thrillville throwing errors, taking a 7-3 lead.

Chillicothe broke the game open with a four-run eighth, scoring on an RBI hit from Charlie Scholvin, an RBI groundout by Colaco, a double steal and an RBI hit from Jhors Gomez, making it 11-4.

Thrillville plated a run in the top of the ninth to cap the scoring.

Carter White started for the Paints, allowing two runs on five hits, walking one and striking out nine over four-plus innings. Colin Bryant (1-0) earned the win, throwing the next four innings while allowing one unearned run on two hits. Brock Blanton made his debut, allowing a run on one hit and striking out a batter in the ninth.

The Paints host the REX Wednesday night at VA Memorial Stadium at 7:05 p.m. The first 500 fans will get a "cool treat" from Dairy Queen and it's Winning Wednesday, as four lucky scorecard holders will win a $50 gas card from Valero.
