Paints Use Three-Run Seventh to Top Dubois County 6-5
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, used a three-run seventh to beat Dubois County at VA Memorial Stadium Thursday night, running their win streak to six games and improving to 5-0 in the second half.
- Chillicothe (5-0, 17-15) stayed close all night, never trailing by more than two. They got a pinch-hit RBI infield hit with two outs in the seventh from Michael Simone, taking the lead for good at 6-5.
- Max Mullen threw four innings of relief, earning the win after giving up one run on five hits, walking two and striking out four.
- Justin Gorski and Cam Gravelle each had two hits
- Gravelle drove in two, Alex Bemis, Mitchel Szymczak and Simone each drove in one.
- Dubois County (1-3, 18-13) hit three home runs in the first two innings, Brayden Giesler in the first and Mayes Gosser and Nate Ozuna to start the second.
- The Paints won for just the second time when allowing the game's first run (2-10).
- Chillicothe and Dubois County have now played three one-run games this season. They play a fourth time Friday in Chillicothe.
