CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, dropped an 8-6 game to the Normal CornBelters Wednesday night at VA Memorial Stadium.
The Paints scored first for the 11th time in 14 games to start the season. After falling behind 3-1, the Paints tied it at 3-3 in the fifth. After Normal regained the lead in the sixth, Chillicothe took its second lead of the game in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs and making it 5-4. Normal scored three in the seventh and one in the eighth, while the Paints would only get one more in the eighth.
Chillicothe scored six runs on 11 hits, walked 10 times and left 12 on base. Paints pitchers walked 11, hit two and struck out 10.
Normal scored in five straight innings, the fourth through the eighth. They hads their leadoff batter reach base in seven of the nine innings.
The Paints play in Lafayete Thursday and Friday. They return to VA Memorial Stadium to play Normal Saturday and Sunday.
