Cameron Birch Re-Signs With Paints
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, announce the re-signing of infielder/pitcher Cameron Birch for the upcoming season, which begins Tuesday, May 26.
Birch joined the Paints last summer as a graduated high school player about a month after completing his senior season at Olentangy High School by helping the Braves win the 2025 OHSAA Dvision I State Championship, along with Paints teammate Carter Hire. Birch was the starting pitcher for the Braves in the title game.
The Lewis Center, Ohio, native played in 16 games for the Paints last summer, 12 as a position player and four as a relief pitcher.
In 24 at bats, Birch collected three hits, including a double, driving in three and scoring a run. He also walked six times.
On the mound, the righthander amassed a 3.38 ERA over 10 2/3 innings while walking eight and striking out 13, earning a win and two saves in the process.
So far this spring at Marietta College, his first in collegiate baseball, Birch has appeared in one game, striking out one batter (as of April 7).
Birch was a highly-decorated high school player at Olentangy, earning three varsity letters and garnering several honors, including Second Team All-Ohio, Second Team All-Central District, Second Team All-Ohio Capital Conference, Ohio High School Scholar Athlete (four times) and a National Academic All-American.
