Paints Beat CornBelters 12-6 In Normal

NORMAL, Ill. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, took advantage of 12 walks and four hit batters in a 12-6 win over the Normal CornBelters Friday night.

Chillicothe (6-4) jumped out to a 6-0 lead through three innings, controlling the game until the bottom of the fourth.

Normal (4-6) made a run, scoring four runs with two outs in the fourth and two with two outs in the fifth, cutting it to a 7-6 game after five innings.

With two on and two out in the top of the seventh, Zach Henderson reached on an error by the Normal second baseman, allowing the inning to continue. Chillicothe followed with RBI hits from Cam Gravelle and CJ richmond, scoring three times in the inning to make it 10-6. 

The Paints made it 12-6 with a run in the eighth from a double by Jackson Boles and a run in the ninth on an RBI hit by Mason McManus.

AJ Dallmayer (1-0) came on to pitch for the Paints in a one-run game, throwing three scoreless innings while allowing two hits and striking out two en-route to his first win of the season.
