Gannon's Alex Bemis Joins Paints Roster
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The back-to-back Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, have signed pitcher/infielder Alex Bemis for the upcoming 2024 season, which begins May 28.
Bemis recently completed his freshman year at Gannon University, going 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA over one start, three appearances, and striking out three over three innings of work. As an infielder, Bemis started 45 games, hitting .293 with 15 doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs while also stealing 11 bases.
The Monroe, Ohio, native is a graduate of Monroe High School where he was named SWBL East Division Player of the Year as a senior after helping lead his team to a berth in the district semifinals in its first season in Division I. He was also named All-City Division I First Team by the Southwest Ohio Baseball Coaches Association.
Bemis joins college teammate Matt Graeber as the second Gannon player of the Paints' 2024 roster.
