Pitcher Colin Bryant Re-Signs With Paints

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The back-to-back Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, have re-signed pitcher Colin Bryant for the upcoming 2024 season, which begins May 28.

Bryant made nine appearances for the Paints last summer, starting seven times. Over 42 1/3 innings pitched, Bryant earned a 3-2 record while striking out 35 and maintaining a WHIP of 1.54 and an 4.25 ERA.

In the Ohio River Valley Division title game to open the playoffs, Bryant came on out of the bullpen to throw 3 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out four en-route to grabbing the win.

Bryant just finished his year season at West Virginia State Univeristy (he still has one year of eligibility remaining), where he went 4-2 this spring in 11 starts, compiling a 5.53 ERA.

Over three seasons with the Yellow Jackets, Bryant owns a 5.18 ERA over 34 appearances, 25 starts, and having thrown more than 130 innings. He has struck out 103 batters in his coklegiate career, while walking 62 and holding opposing hitters to a .292 average.

The Washington, W.Va, native is a graduate of Parkersburgh South High School.
