Marietta's Alex Richter Signs With Paints

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The back-to-back Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, have signed infielder Alex Richter for the upcoming 2024 season, which begins May 28.

Currently a junior at Marietta College, Richter is hitting .338 over 42 games (all starts) with 17 doubles, two triples, nine home runs and 34 RBIs. He's also slugging .649, has been hit by 25 pitches this season and is reaching base nearly 50 percent of the time.

Over parts of three seasons with Marietta, Richter owns a career .356 average over 136 games (135 starts), collecting 37 doubles, 16 triples, 17 home runs and 116 RBIs. He has walked or been hit by a pitch 108 times, versus 61 strikeouts and has stolen 23 bases.

As a sophomore in 2023, Richter led the Ohio Athletic Conference with nine triples and was sixth with a .691 slugging pct. He was also named a third-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawling, fifth-team by D3baseball.com and first-team All-Region 7 by ABCA/Rawlings.

Richter is a native of Carmel High School.
