Paints Sign Tiffin Infielder Ty Hatfield

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The back-to-back Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, have signed infielder Ty Hatfield for the upcoming 2024 season, which begins May 28. 

Currently a junior at Tiffin University, Hatfield is hitting .306 in 49 games this season (38 starts) with nine doubles, one triple, two home runs and 24 RBIs. He's also carrying an on-base percentage of .415 this spring.

Over parts of three seasons with the Dragons, Hatfield owns a career .292 batting average, recording 83 hits, 15 doubles, one triple and four home runs, driving in 41. Defensively, Hatfield's career fielding percentage is a solid .957.

Ty is a native of Fredericktown, Ohio, where he was a second-team All-Ohio baseball player at Fredericktown High School. He also earned Moutn Vernon News Player of the Year.

Hatfield joins college teammate Scotty Adelman as the second Tiffin Dragons player on the 2024 Chillicothe Paints roster.
