Paints Re-Sign Pitcher Scotty Adelman

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The back-to-back Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, have re-signed pitcher Scotty Adelman for the upcoming 2024 season, which begins May 28.

Last summer, Adelman appeared in seven games during that last part of the season, earning two wins and no losses, while pitching to a 3.12 ERA. The right-hander also struck out seven and walked four over 8 2/3 innings with the Paints.

Currently in his junior season at Tiffin University, Adelman is 1-1 over one start and 13 appearances this spring. Striking out 18 batters over 20 innings of work, Adelman is also allowing opposing batters to hit just .237.

As a freshman in 2022, Adelman was part of a three-pitcher combined no-hitter against Lake Erie College.

Over parts of three seasons with the Dragons, Adelman is sporting a 5.63 ERA over 32 innings. In conference play, his ERA sits at 3.63 over 22 1/3 innings of work.

Adelman has been named to the Academic All-District Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, as a freshman in 2022 and as a sophomore in 2023. He's on pace for the honor in 2024 as well.

A native of Norwalk, Ohio, Adelman is a graduate of Norwark St. Paul High School, where he was named first-team All-Ohio and District 9 Player of the Year and Firelands Conference Pitcher of the Year as a senior in 2021. Adelman was part of three Firelands Conference titles and appears in the Ohio High School Atheltic Association record books for 45 stolen bases during the 2021 season, ranking 16th all-time. He also is 3rd all-time with six stolen bases in a game. Adelman finished top 10 in his class academically and is a member of the National Honor Society.
