Findlay Outfielder Casey Maruniak Joins Paints

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The back-to-back Prospect League champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, have signed outfielder Casey Maruniak for the upcoming 2024 season, which begins May 28.

Currently a sophomore at the University of Findlay, Maruniak has played in 19 games this spring for the Oilers, starting 18. He's hitting .302 with three doubles, four home runs and 14 RBIs, while maintaining an on-base percentage of .473.

Maruniak played a lot as a freshman during the 2023 season, earning Third-Team All-GMAC honors after appearing in 51 games and posting a .321 average with 12 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 38 RBIs. He also led the team with 20 stolen bases.

Over parts of two collegiate seasons, Maruniak owns a .317 batting average with 15 doubles, three triples, nine home runs and 52 RBIs over 70 career games (69 starts). He has also stolen 29 bases in his time at Findlay.

Maruniak is a native of Hilliard, Ohio, where he graduated from Hilliard Darby High School after being named to the All-Ohio Metro team.
