2023 Roster: Nick Falter

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, has re-signed Denison University pitcher Nick Falter for the upcoming season, which begins on the road at Lafayette Wednesday, May 31.

Falter is currently in his sophomore season with the Big Red, who are ranked No. 11 in the country by D3Baseball.com with a record of 31-8 (16-0) entering this weekend's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament at Chillicothe's VA Memorial Stadium. The righthander has been a large part of that success, going 7-0 over 11 starts, 12 appearances, while holding opposing hitters to a .240 batting average. The 6-foot-5 pitcher has thrown 59 2/3 innings, striking out 51 batters and walking just 14 en route to a 2.41 ERA. The NCAC named Falter its Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 16.

Over two seasons at Denison, Falter is 8-1 with a 2.88 ERA over 25 appearances, including 11 starts. He's thrown 78 innings for the Big Red, striking out 77 batters, walking 21 and holding opposing hitters to a .263 batting average.

Falter joins Denison teammates Owen Wilson, Eric Colaco and Will Rettig on the Paints' roster for the upcoming season.

Falter briefly pitched for the Paints during their run to the 2022 Prospect League championship a year ago, appearing in three games late in the season. He went 1-0 and threw 6 1/3 innings, allowing six hits, striking out 11 and walking just three.

A native of Powell, Ohio, Falter is a graduate of Olentagy Liberty High School.
