Paints Add Baldwin Wallace Pitcher Dawson Gabe

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, announce the signing of pitcher Dawson Gabe for the upcoming season, which begins on the road at Champion City, Wednesday, June 1.

Gabe is currently playing his junior season at 12th-ranked Baldwin Wallace University, owning a 3.51 ERA over 11 appearances, including nine starts, racking up 60 strikeouts so far this season through 48 2/3 innings (as of May 2).

Last spring, Gabe earned the Yellow Jackets' "Outstanding Pitcher" award after holding opponents to a .206 batting average and striking out a team-high 60 over 43 2/3 innings.

The Indianapolis, Ind. native was a three-time letterwinner and member of the Honor Roll at Lawrence High School.

The Chillicothe Paints open the home portion of their season Thursday, June 2 at VA Memorial Stadium against the Champion City Kings at 7:05 p.m. Draft beer will be just $2 for Thirsty Thursday, thanks to Budweiser, and a Fireworks Extravaganza will follow, sponsored by 94 Country.
