Paints seeking host families

CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Chillicothe Paints need host families for the 2012 season. Host families play a crucial role in summer collegiate baseball, as most of the players on the Paints’ roster are not from southern Ohio.
As NCAA student-athletes, Paints’ players are not allowed to accept pay for playing in the Prospect League. As a result, the Paints rely on local families to house their players.
Host families are only obligated to provide a spare bedroom and access to a bathroom and laundry facilities. Each player is responsible for their own food and transportation, although the host family may include the player in family meals and activities.
Hosting a Paints’ player can be a rewarding experience for the host family. Paints’ players are excellent role models for young children and teenagers, and are great company for the entire household. Often, players and host families build a friendship that lasts well beyond the end of the season.
A family that hosts a Paints’ player is provided two (2) COMPLIMENTARY season tickets for all Paints home games and will be recognized on the field during the Paints’ final home series.
If you are interested in hosting a Chillicothe Paints’ player, please contact the Paints at johnwend@chillicothepaints.com, or phone, (740) 773-TEAM (8326) and ask for JOHN WEND for additional information.
You may also fill out the attached “Host Family Application” and return it to the Paints’ office at 59 N. Paint St. in Chillicothe.
